Milestones
Excellent. The greenhouse is officially heated, and already half full of seedlings and plants. How exciting! And it ended up being so easy too. There's no reason it should have taken this long to set into effect. But, oh well, we're there now. And next year it will be that much easier.
It's probably 40 degrees today with the sun shining bright on the snowpack, making trails icy. I always feel like there's so much to do this time of year... and there is. Tasks roll themselves out one after another, until all the daylight is spent, and already there are hardly enough nighttime hours to find rest.
The sheep seem to be settling in pretty well. One of these afternoons I'm going to bring em inside and try to manage their feet. I guess we'll see how that goes. A friend gave me a recommendation for a shearer, so I'm gonna give her a call and see what it would cost for her to come out here and show me how it's done.
Tuffy is spending most days outdoors with her mama and the rest of the goats now. Little ones are just pure sweetness. Soon we will have more babies, as Ginger is making milk and due in a week! And I suppose it's time to advertise the #2 buckling for Easter.
107 birds, 15 goats, 5 sheep, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a greenhouse use alot of water! I'm hauling 40-55 gallons a day and barely keeping up with everything. And with as slow as the pump runs, I feel like I'm wasting alot of time spinning my wheels. Time to brainstorm.
