    Unseasonal weather

Add another record weather event to the books.  Now that was quite a storm...

Most of Alaska got hit hard by a massive low pressure system that packed a wallop of warm and wet, bringing a pretty wild icestorm to the Greatland.

When it thaws in the Alaskan winter, things are a real mess- and an element of danger is lent to the scene.

At our elevation, we didn't suffer as much as most- and thankfully I didn't have to tackle the roadsystem in all of it's dysfunctional glory.

Ben and Gramma spent the entire 4 days in Valdez, waiting out the weather, so I was home alone with the small child... hunkering down and taking care of business on the farm.

Now the storm has passed, my family is home again, and there's about 3/4 inch of ice remaining on every surface that is not deep in snow.

The only casualty was our tool tent, which magnificently collapsed as I was walking up to it to reduce the snowload.

We're fine, the animals are fine, travel has been restored to a decent degree and on we go.
