More goats

Meet Ginger, Gigi, Farlight, Mango and Licorice... in that order.  Pictures are still pending for Edelweiss and Guava.  Since the only grade A goat dairy in Alaska had to close it doors suddenly, we had the opportunity to rapidly expand our herd.  

Now we are the proud owners of 7 dairy goats.  6 are adults, 5 are bred to kid within the next 8 weeks, and 4 are currently milking.  What a grand adventure we are on!  Our new herdshare program has a name... Lunachick Mountain Goatshares.

We're offering herdshares for $40 each, with weekly boarding fees of $10.  In return, our participants are entitled to a gallon of raw milk.  There are also wickedly fresh eggs from our flock of 53 hens, which are available for $6 a dozen or $9 an 18-pack.

Since our homestead is not road-accessible, we deliver goods to Palmer every Wednesday, and now to Eagle River/Anchorage every other week.
