A new chapter

[Lisa Rae]

So much has happened in the last 4 years since telling you about Tootsie, that I barely know where to start.  To begin with, we moved from our lovely mountain homestead on the edge of the Interior.  Now we are located on the scenic Kenai Peninsula, about 4.5 hours south by road, in the hamlet of Kasilof.

My family exploded without warning and now its just the three of us girls building community and growing food.  We now live in a road accessible area, and are currently farmsharing with another family who have 28 greenhouses and 7 kids of their own.

It has been turbulent and dynamic, so much tearing down to begin anew.  I gave up my free range goat herd in the mountains, to raise pigs on the flats.  I still have my family of heritage hogs.  Tootsie is gone but there are many others who have come to teach me how to be a pastured pig grower.

I hope you'll walk with me in our new adventures.  Hopefully soon we will have enough infrastructure so that you can plan to work and live with us as we grow holistic sustainable food for Alaska.
