I am beyond pleased to introduce the newest additions to our life on this mountain:

Meet the Hogg family:  Boss, Butternut and two hoglets from their first litter.  These guys are American Guinea Hogs, and as far as I know- they are the only breeding stock in our great state of Alaska.  WHOOP!

Their compadre, Roly Poly, is the production feeder pig that grew up this summer on barley fodder and goat milk.  He is almost ready for harvest at 215# this week.

Fodder and pigs go together like you know what.  I am loving this adventure!  So in the next couple of weeks, Roly Poly will become bacon.  Meanwhile everyone freeranges with our roaming goat herd.  The little hogs will grow up to be food for our family, and hopefully... Butternut will give birth again in February or so!
