Where there's smoke

Yip!  The greenhouse is heating!  Ben spent the morning installing a woodstove in the greenhouse, with a backup propane heater that runs on a thermostat.  So if I let the wood fire go out, the propane stove comes on automatically to pick up the slack.

Now I'll have to monitor the system for several days, to make sure it runs properly... but wow!  This is major stuff!  It'll be huge, if it does indeed work and I can move seedlings out there soon.

Meanwhile, we're busy getting things ready for Ben to take off for a few weeks, and for 3-5 goats and 20+ chickens to come up the mountain tomorrow.  Plus, Edelweiss is due to kid in 5 days... and Iris might just beat her.  Zowie.  Things are crazy around here.

Other news includes upping the salmon meal and BOSS components of the chickens' diet.  I'll be interested to see how this experiment turns out.  I'll let ya know...
